The Stroke
Bei Dao suffered a stroke at Ma On Shan Beach in Hong Kong. He had a serious alteration of language functions. He could not communicate as he wished for 4 years. His language level did not reach thirty percent. This meant that he could not hope for a fundamental change.
He would not give up.
Aware of who he was by limits of the language he faced a crisis. He just stopped talking and lost the desire to speak.
Chinese Calligraphy
As everyone knows, Chinese writing, made of ideograms from pictograms, is very different from phonetic writing. The feature of the ideogram and that of painting have the same origin — three elements: Xuancheng rice paper, brush, ink, constitute the common foundation for calligraphy and painting. So he started painting.
Lines and Dots
He started doing lines but it was very challenging so the lines became dots, millions of dots in repetition resulting in incredible landscapes. Using the thickness of the points and the distance between them creating tension and textures.
The Connection
There he found a link between the state of mind and the act of painting. Time stops for him when he is painting they become one. His first creations of images are more or less related to breaking waves or drifting mountains. Later the link between the image and the emotional state was often more direct until its fusion in the state of chaos in the universe.
The Miracle

“Moment” will is currently presented at the gallery Horizon in Le Marais until the 31st of September 2018.

La Embolia
Bei Dao sufrió un derrame cerebral en Ma On Shan Beach en Hong Kong. Esto lo dejó con alteración seria de las funciones del lenguaje. No pudo comunicarse como lo deseaba durante 4 años. Su nivel de lenguaje no alcanzó ni el treinta por ciento. Esto significaba que los doctores no podían esperar un cambio fundamental.
Él no se daría por vencido.
Consciente de quién era por los límites del idioma, se dió cuenta que enfrentaba una crisis, así que simplemente dejó de hablar, perdió el deseo de hablar.
Caligrafía China
Como todos saben la escritura china esta hecha de ideogramas y de pictogramas, es muy diferente de la escritura fonética. La característica del ideograma y la de la pintura tienen el mismo origen: tres elementos: papel de arroz Xuancheng, pincel, tinta que constituyen la base común de la caligrafía y la pintura. Esto lo llevó a pintar, gracias a estas herramientas.
Líneas y Puntos
Empezó a hacer líneas, pero fue un gran desafío, por lo que las líneas se convirtieron en puntos, millones de puntos en repetición que dieron como resultado paisajes increíbles. Usando el grosor de los puntos y la distancia entre ellos creando tensión y texturas.
La Conexión
Allí encontró un vínculo entre el estado mental y el acto de pintar. El tiempo se detiene para él cuando pinta, se vuelven uno. Las primeras creaciones de las imágenes están más o menos relacionadas con las olas rompientes o las montañas a la deriva, más tarde el vínculo entre la imagen y el estado emocional fue a menudo más directo hasta su fusión de su estado de caos en el universo.
El Milagro
