Presenting turn of the century vintage works by these two master photographers, Galerie Miranda and Michael Hoppen Gallery pay tribute to the timeless theme of the wonder and beauty of the natural world, perhaps more relevant today than ever.
THE PHOTOGRAPHERS
We learned that Charles Jones was a gardener that liked to take pictures of his fruits and vegetables. He had never shown his work and was discovered only in 1981; Jones produced gold toned gelatin silver prints from glass plate negatives; the vegetables, fruit and flowers seem to shimmer with the warmth of the sun, in a deep tribute to the beauty of the natural world.
Karl Blossfeldt isa german photographer whose pictures have great detail, almost as seen throughout a microscope. You almost feel as if they where alive in front of you, motionless but alive. He specialized in macrophotography to enlarge his plant specimens and even designed a camera for this purpose.
THE EXPERIENCE
It is refreshing to see photography in such a simple and honest manner, the subjects are light which makes one find beauty and feeling in them. I found elegancy and peace in this exhibition; an escape to nature, back to the countryside . I love when art gives you a break from the caos of the world, you looked at these pictures of flowers and vegetables and you dive slowly into the stillness of time.
If you are looking for class and beauty this is one of the best photo exhibits I have seen this year.

LOS FOTOGRAFOS
Aprendimos que Charles Jones era un jardinero al que le gustaba tomar fotos de sus frutas y verduras. Nunca había mostrado su trabajo y fue descubierto solo en 1981; Jones produjo impresiones en gelatina de plata en tonos dorados a partir de negativos de placas de vidrio; Las verduras, frutas y flores parecen brillar con el calor del sol, en un homenaje profundo a la belleza del mundo natural.
Karl Blossfeldt es un fotógrafo alemán cuyas imágenes tienen gran detalle, casi como se ve a través de un microscopio. Casi sientes como si estuvieran vivos frente a ti, inmóviles pero vivos. Se especializó en macrofotografía para ampliar sus especímenes de plantas e incluso diseñó una cámara para este propósito.
LA EXPERIENCIA
Es refrescante ver la fotografía de una manera tan simple y honesta, los sujetos son ligeros, lo que hace que uno encuentre belleza y sentimiento en ellos. Encontré elegancia y paz en esta exposición; Un escape a la naturaleza, de vuelta al campo. Me encanta cuando el arte te da un descanso del caos del mundo, miras estas imágenes de flores y vegetales y te sumerges lentamente en la quietud del tiempo.
Si buscas clase y belleza, esta es una de las mejores exhibiciones de fotos que he visto este año.
