What happens to an instant if we look at it from different angles? Barbara has been using a specific method to show this through images and the result is quite fascinating.

Thanks to a system linking several cameras, Barbara Probst triggers a simultaneous shooting of the same event, the same gesture or the same action, at different distances or angles. This moment multiplied in several views constitutes an exposure, a constellation of perspectives that induces plural, sometimes contradictory, readings of the image.
T H E E X P E R I E N C E
At first it was a bit difficult to understand. Try to explain to the brain that what the eyes are seeing is not the same image but the same thing that is seen from different angles. Our common sense tries to assimilate it immediately to decode it as logically as possible. It was very interesting to spend time trying to understand where the camera was placed to take the photograph and the intention of the moment the artist sought to explore;
How would a man cross the street if we saw him from where we are standing or how would it look if we saw him from the next corner in the same moment? Barbara reminded us of those moments me miss by showing us several situations within this dilemma. You could say it was as if several people had the same anecdote, the story is the same but the plot and the details change. Very interesting. This new exhibition comes out of anything that Le Bal has exposed before and we love it.

¿Qué pasa con un instante si lo miramos desde diferentes ángulos? Barbara ha estado usando un método específico para mostrar esto a través de imágenes y el resultado es bastante fascinante.

Gracias a un sistema que vincula varias cámaras, Barbara Probst dispara una toma simultánea del mismo evento, el mismo gesto o la misma acción, a diferentes distancias o ángulos. Este momento multiplicado en varias vistas constituye una exposición, una constelación de perspectivas que induce a interpretaciones diferentes, a veces contradictorias, de la imagen.
L A E X P E R I E N C I A
Al principio fue un poco difícil de entender. Trate de explicarle al cerebro que lo que los ojos están viendo no es la misma imagen sino lo mismo que se ve desde diferentes ángulos. Nuestro sentido común trata de asimilarlo de inmediato para decodificarlo tan lógicamente como sea posible. Fue muy interesante pasar el tiempo tratando de entender dónde se colocó la cámara para tomar la fotografía y la intención del momento en que el artista buscaba explorar;
¿Cómo cruzaría la calle un hombre si lo viéramos desde donde estamos parados o cómo se vería si lo viéramos desde la siguiente esquina en el mismo momento? Barbara nos recordó esos momentos que me perdí al mostrarnos varias situaciones dentro de este dilema. Se podría decir que fue como si varias personas tuvieran la misma anécdota, la historia es la misma pero la trama y los detalles cambian. Muy interesante. Esta nueva exposición surge de todo lo que Le Bal ha expuesto antes y nos encanta.
